What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?
Feelings like anger, sadness, confusion and insecurity are normal. Sometimes negative feelings may be completely justified. It’s not realistic to think you’re going to be bubbling with glee and confidence every day. There is a wide range of human emotions that we all experience. It’s part of being human.
It’s important to honestly examine your life and adjust your attitude, habits, life situation or the company you keep if you consistently have negative feelings.
Honor your emotions. Process emotions but don’t let them influence you to make harmful or destructive decisions. . Don’t let emotions control you like a toddler.
Change what you can if it makes you unhappy and learn to navigate through what you can’t change. That takes maturity, common sense, self respect and practicality. (I have no background in psychology or therapy. I’m talking about the normal range of emotions and not issues needing psychiatric intervention. That’s ok if that’s needed. I just want to be clear about what I’m talking about.)
Writing in a journal has helped me sort out my emotions since I was a young girl. It’s been a good form of expression and a place for self examination. ✍🏿📖
Prayer, Bible study and asking the Holy Spirit for guidance gives me a foundation of faith Christ which has never failed. 🙏🏿✝️
