I bought a smart watch at Ross over the weekend. I’ve noticed people wearing them and I thought they were pretty cool. I like to wear trendy clothing and accessories and keep up with technology so I bought a smart watch for $19.99.
The watch is OK. I like it better on other people than I do myself. My watch has the modern look that’s on trend that I was going for but it lacks elegance and style. It kind of looks like an electronic tether that prisoners wear. The watch also reminds me of watches that were given to children at fast food restaurants and cereal boxes in the 80s.

The features of the watch are pretty cool but I’m not sure I need or want to always be connected to an electronic device. I am pretty accessible as it is. A smart watch attaches me to technology at all times. It’s also strange that I have to push a button to be able to tell time as opposed to just looking at my wrist. The smart watch adds an extra step as far as being a time piece. It also needs to be charged.
I think I will wear other watches most of the time. I think the smart watch will be great for traveling or exercising. The fact that it’s basically a tracking device can be an advantage for taking walks or hiking. I tend to take walks in wide open highly visible areas during daylight so this isn’t a big concern for me. However, there have been stories in the news this summer about people coming up missing and needing medical attention during hikes. A smart watch can be an additional safety measure if a hiker/walker needs to be rescued.
The metrics that are saved on a smart watch can be useful for anyone that wants to be more health conscious and develop a fitness routine. The smart watch user can set goals and the numbers loaded onto the watch don’t lie. You can also set reminders to take medication, drink water and track what you eat. This device is definitely useful.

My favorite part about the watch is choosing the face. There are many options and can be changed easily by downloading your favorite.

A smart watch is great for those interested in technology and can not afford to miss a text, call or e mail. It’s not my favorite watch because I’m more interested in fashion and style. My smart watch is a good addition to my watch collection because of it’s features but it won’t be my every day watch.
