I woke up at 5AM on May 19, 2018 to watch Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Duke of Sussex marry. I did the same when Kate Middleton married William Prince of Wales and when Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York married Prince Andrew, Duke of York. I was reminded of the day when the You Tube algorithm suggested this video of The Kingdom Choir singing “Stand by Me” at Meghan and Harry’s wedding.
I had forgotten about this performance but I remembered it once I was reminded. I thought the choir was beautiful and “Stand by Me” is a great selection for a wedding song. I was impressed at the way Meghan Markle represented Black American culture in her wedding ceremony. She also had a Black pastor from Florida speak during her nuptials.
Happy anniversary on seven years, two babies and overcoming a mainstream and social media poop storm.
