RIP Wayne Lewis – Atlantic Starr

Wayne Lewis of Atlantic Starr died on on June 25, 2025 at the age of 1968. Wayne Lewis was a singer in the 70s and 80s R&B band. He performed the popular sappy, 80s love ballad “Always”. “Always” is the quintessential love song. Their other hit that I remember well is Secret Lovers”. I still have “Secret Lovers” on a vinyl record and I knew the lyrics to this adultery carroll by heart in the fifth grade. This type of music is typical for the 80s, especially the R&B genre. The songs were based on sweet romance and hope for the future and toxic relationships doomed to failure. Thanks for the inspiration and memories Wayne.
